Appendix A: Raccoon-Approved Cocktail Recipes

Salty Raccoon

  • 1.5 oz tequila
  • 1 oz rosemary simple syrup (see the following recipe)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • sea salt
  • a charred sprig of rosemary

Line half the rim of a glass with sea salt. Add ice and set aside. Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the ice-filled glass. Char a sprig of rosemary and add as garnish. Or eat it—you’re a raccoon.

Rosemary simple syrup

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4-5 sprigs of fresh rosemary

Bring water to a boil. Add sugar and rosemary. Dissolve the sugar completely. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Strain. Refrigerate for up to a week in a covered container.

Raccoon’s Revenge

  • 1.5 oz coffee liqueur
  • 4.5 oz Dr. Pepper
  • 3 oz vodka

Mix and serve over 6 (not 7, not 5… 6) ice cubes. Fun fact: Raccoons can’t count.
